Sure, I could redesign it right now, but I'm currently working on learning railroads and I simply don't want to change focus. And what's already there is a nightmare that I developed early in in my Factorio education. I've just established a yellow tech factory area, but there's simply no room to efficiently get it all in. Alternatively, just a tweak to your setup, if you really can for some reason (geographic constraints or somesuch) only have a single column of labs, it would be simpler to use an arrangement best illustrated (short of trying to get a game setup to this point to create a screenshot) thus: Code: Select all SPLIT LAB SPLIT BPXX. Instead, I found a very nice green circuit blueprint, plopped it down in an open area, fed iron and copper into it, green circuits out of it, and ten minutes later I was back up north working on the North Copper Mine.
FACTORIO LAB SETUP HOW TO
I *could* have spent the next few hours figuring out how to create a much larger green circuit factory, after which time, I'd probably have totally forgot most of my North Copper Mine plans.
FACTORIO LAB SETUP FULL
My green circuit area was running at full tilt, but I simply needed a much bigger area built. Turns out, I'd pretty much run out of green circuits. The first would be a fairly 'standard' 4 belts feeding labs, a very neat way is to use underground belts alternating red and blue (one belt being red and one being blue) so all 4 belts can fit in 2 tiles. the three belts in between the 2 lab arrays are meant for 3 science types. To do this required a good deal of equipment. If you look around, you will see several setups but they usually fall within 3 basic categories. I was running low on copper and needed to pull some down from a vein that was WAY far to the north. You get your mind focused on a specific task, and here is a good example. I find that I learn a lot by looking at a blueprint that works. But I'd have gotten tired and frustrated on the first day had I done that. Following it to its full extent, I shouldn't be on this forum at all and should only learn by trying different things within the game.

That philosophy can be used throughout all aspects of the game. This means that it does not matter that the productivity bar resets when the research is changed, no productivity bonus is lost. Its really ressource efficient, fast to build manually, easy to extend, uses less 'volume' (smaller, compared to setup with four belts and four inserters) - Its a certain stated percentage as good as direct insertion. When productivity modules are used in labs, the productivity bonus is directly calculated and applied each tick so the productivity bar is simply cosmetic. You should always build blocks of labs instead of single lines because they are way more efficient.
